Need a Customized Lamp Solution? Look to Amglo

If you are looking for lamps with special requirements that are not being met by large integrated lamp manufacturing companies, Amglo is your source. We are selective in the technologies we invest in, and the lamp products we develop, to meet the diverse requirements for photographic, stage, stroboscopic, reprographic, aircraft, airfield, locomotive, obstruction warning lighting, machine vision, laser, and medical markets. If our portfolio seems broad, that is because it is. We have been at it for a while, boasting an 89-year history of successfully developing specialty lamps that are best suited to unique specifications. Here is an overview of the benefits our lamps deliver:

XENON FLASHLAMPS

As one of Amglo’s core technologies, our xenon flashlamps are used in applications ranging from aircraft and airfield lighting to obstruction warning lighting to scientific, industrial, medical and cosmetic laser lighting. Our flashlamps are unique to others in that we manufacture our own proprietary cathodes internally using state of the art pressing and sintering processes.

For Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) used for cosmetic/aesthetic applications, Amglo xenon flashlamps produce a constant and complete UV visible IR spectrum for hair removal, acne removal, tattoo removal, and more.

For aircraft lighting, Amglo xenon flashlamps are used primarily for wing tip and other identification lighting. These are often strobes or flashing lights on aircraft wing tips and tails, and they last for millions of flashes.

For airfield lighting, our flashlamps are used in approach lighting including Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL), where lighting is required to significantly enhance the safety of aircraft operations, especially in reduced visibility conditions. Furthermore, Amglo xenon flashlamps are used for obstruction lighting on and around airports to make towers and other structure visible to aircraft. Airfield professionals trust Amglo thanks to our internal process controls which provide consistent photometric performance.

Finally, Amglo xenon flashlamps are perfect for manufacturing technologies where high precision is required. Our flashlamps can be used in devices for laser cutting, laser welding, and laser marking. Amglo also offers a water-cooled krypton laser lamp (AQH-8953) for micro spot welding or fine cutting applications.

HALOGEN LAMPS

Amglo halogen lamps are used in aircraft, airfield, locomotive, and vehicular applications as they are cost-effective, durable, reliable, and readily available. Our proprietary technology used in tungsten filament settings provides both extended lamp lifetimes and extreme durability, making it possible to deliver up to, if not more than, 100 hours of lamp life, which reduces operating costs overall.

For aviation, halogen lamps can be used for all aircraft exterior lighting which includes landing lights, taxi lights, taillights, and logo lights. These lamps deliver consistent light output over the life of the lamp and are built to withstand high cyclic vibrations for innumerable takeoffs and landings. Additionally, many of Amglo’s aircraft lamps have Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) or are Boeing IPC-approved

Halogen locomotive lamps provide operating flexibility with a wide range of operating temperatures (40°C to 70°C) that make it possible to deploy a locomotive anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. The focused beam angle of 10 degrees improves light down the track for enhanced safety and visibility. Out PAR Series boasts an increased bulb life over incandescent of 4,000 hours versus 500 hours, reducing replacement for an enhanced operating cost, improved safety, and reduced maintenance cost to keep your locomotive in service.

LED LAMPS

Amglo’s LED lamps use the latest in technology to provide a reliable, rugged and efficient lighting source that supports exterior and interior aircraft lighting and all-purpose locomotive lighting.

For aircraft lighting, Amglo offers landing and taxi LED lamps which last up to 50,000 hours with stable light output. This results in reduced maintenance costs due to the need for fewer change-outs, as well as less downtime and delays. Additional benefits include a long lamp life that reduces operating costs, line processes to eliminate glass stress, and reduced vibration to ensure durability. Having consistent light output over the life of the lamp improves safety and vibration resistance improves the life of the product. Many of these lamps are FAA/PMA approved. Amglo interior LED lamps are available for use as replacements for incandescent lamps in backlit switches, push buttons, annunciators, displays, and cabin seatbelt/no smoking signs.

Amglo continues to lead in LED technology for the railroad and commuter rail industry with lamps that are the most reliable offering in the industry. The A19 LED lamp operates in a wide range of operating temperatures (-40°C to 70°C) to provide the flexibility to deploy your locomotive anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. This is especially beneficial when lighting is used in the engine room compartment of the locomotive. Additional benefits include increased uptime and reduced maintenance costs and PVC/acrylic construction that equates to longer bulb life.
