New Development - energy saving (fuel & electric) lamp for a greener environment

Amglo has developed a new halogen PAR56 lamp that uses less power with the same light output. We answered the call of our customers who want to save energy on their electric or diesel electric locomotives. This is a first in the industry.

Amglo PAR56 75 volt lamps consume 350 watts or the same as incandescent 75 volt lamps. The new lamp uses less power and saves energy to help the environment by reducing emissions.

The new lamp began a testing cycle in the Amglo engineering laboratory early in 2011. Production samples then began in service road testing on a Class 1 railroad in April 2011. The test lamps were similarly reliable to existing Amglo halogen lamps. More lamps were installed on other Class 1 railroads later in the year. The long life of the 300 watt test lamps proved the design and these lamps are available for purchase.

Please note that imported halogen lamps consume 400 watts each. The operation of two headlights and two ditch lights will save 400 watts if you are switching from inefficient imported lamps. This is a large energy saving as well as an emission reduction.

In service testing was successful and the FRA granted type acceptance of this lamp in January 2013. This lamp will save your railroad fuel and help reduce emissions.

You can depend on the superior quality of Amglo lamps that are MADE IN USA!
