Application information for PAR56 lamps on locomotives:
There are a few makes of locomotive PAR56 lamp fixtures. There are basically two types of fixtures. One type clamps the lamp into front hinged portion of the fixture, while in the other the lamp is not clamped. Amglo does not supply fixtures, but two types of fixtures are shown below. Care should be taken with each model to ensure the lamp is well secured in the fixture. Maintenance of fixtures is performed to align the lamp beam by following manufacturer's instructions. There is a rubber gasket that secures the lamp from vibration. Make sure the rubber ring is installed and if worn or cut; it should be replaced.
